At Thames Motor Group, as members of the government funded Motability Scheme we can assist you in the purchase of a brand new Motability vehicle. Motability is a UK charity which was set up to help disabled people and their families achieve greater mobility on the road. The scheme was first set up in 1977 and since then has supplied more than 1.28 million cars and powered wheelchairs to people throughout the country.
At Thames Motor Group we have a wide range of Motability cars to choose from. You do not have to be the driver – if you qualify for Motability then you can name up to 2 drivers on your behalf (subject to terms and conditions of the scheme). If you are the parent or guardian of a child aged 3 or over who receives the allowance, you can order a car for use on their behalf.
Motability provides the car and the support for hassle-free motoring over a 3 year lease, which includes insurance, servicing and maintenance, Full RAC breakdown assistance, annual tax disc, tyre and windscreen replacement as well as a mileage allowance of 60,000 over the 3 year lease period. In addition to this, many adaptations can be made at no extra cost to yourself.
You are entitled to lease a Motability car if you receive the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioner’s Mobility Supplement.
